
Bram Cohen's BitTorrent is an innovative system for distributing large files. Rather than sending every downloader to a single server, BitTorrent spreads the load among people who have already downloaded the file. This means (hopefully) faster downloads for everyone.
To download files via BitTorrent you first need to install a BitTorrent client:

Note: Some firewalls prevent BitTorrent from working. BitTorrent requires outbound access to TCP port 6969 and in/out access on TCP ports 6881-6889. BitTorrent does work behind NAT gateways as long as these ports are open.
